Crazy Challenge - an update

I like lists and schedules, I work best when I have a plan, which is why Minna's Crazy January Challenge was just my thing!
In order to finish the 15 projects I started I have decided to continue in a somewhat similar fashion, switching to a weekly rotation, starting at project #1 which was Rites of Spring by Blackbird Designs. So here's my progress from the past week.
Sadly it's not as much as I had hoped, because it's been a tiring week that had it's climax Friday in the middle of the night when cops and robbers had a high-speed chase through our sweet innocent residential street, pausing long enough beneath our bedroom window for a police officer to draw his weapon and fire (I kid ye not!) at the robbers, missing, at which point the chase was resumed. As a result of the shooting, our row of five houses was then cordoned off with lovely colourful red and white police - do not cross tape...
... and they spend 4 hours noisily doing what it is the police do in such cases. I stuck my head under the covers trying to get some sleep but failed miserably. My zombie-like state prevented me from crossing a single stitch on Saturday. They did - in the end - catch the bad guys, so we can all sleep safe and sound again... please!! In fact, I did sleep well last night, so I may just catch up on a few stitches today! Tomorrow I'm switching projects again, picking up 1612 by The Primitive Needle.

Wishing you all a safe and restful week!

That weekly rotation sounds like a great idea.

That Black Bird sampler -pattern
is so beautiful,I love the swans on cross-stitch designes.

Polices and "the bad-boys" sounds
a litle bit scary for me...
Well ,we have only some bears and wolwes
on the big forest starting from our back-yard :)

Yikes! Not something you want to hear in the night.

I could never stitch in such a rigorous schedule. I am an emotional stitcher...work on what I feel like at that moment.

Glad to hear you succombed to the cat samplers. If you are going to pay homage to your little four footers, you will need a big wallspace. Do you have 3 now? Have fun stitching! :-)

Hugs en groetjes ~
Heidi

Oh my good heavens, Harmien! I didn't even know that Dutch police had guns, let alone fired the in residential neighborhoods! It sounds like a TV show. You take care, and good luck with your ambitious rotation!

I'd say you did quite well :o)

Oh wow! I would have freaked out! No wonder you didn't get back to sleep :oS Glad they caught the bad guys.

That's definitely not the sort of late night excitement one needs or wants!

Good luck with your rotation, I'm sure you'll do wonderfully. Me on the other hand, not so much!

Oh my! Hope things settle down and you get a good night's sleep again.

I'm so glad to see that you'll be continuing to work on your challenge projects. You had quite the lovely collection going, so I'll look forward to seeing more progress in the weeks ahead.

Goodness, that is much more exciting than Apeldoorn! But it sounds rather scary, so I'm glad it's all over, and I hope you have managed to catch up on the sleep.

Wow, what a terrible night for you! Glad to hear the bad guys were eventually caught.

I decided to finish smallest starts first and then proceed with the bigger ones a bit later... together with my other wips...

Lovely progress, I tried a weekly rotation a while back but I seem to lose interest in my projects after two or three days so it just didn't work for me.
Sorry about your sleepless night, hope you're caught up now.

Oh my goodness!! We have had multiple police cars on our street before, but NEVER a shot fired! That is not a good kind of exciting!

I am like you; I work best with a plan. I think if I rotate through all my things with equal time, however, I will end up having a one-at-a-time rotation for a few months at the end. So, I am working on Project 1 for two weeks each month, Project 2 for one week, and "whatever I want" for the last week. Hopefully this will work out....

Hello my friend. You made it through the 15 day challenge. You picked some wonderful designs for those 15 days and I look forward to watching you FINISH them ALL!!!.
Geez, that was some excitement in the neighborhood. Thankfully it doesn't happen often. Have a great week my friend.

It must have been so scary! {{{Shiverings}}}
I've just finished reading and watching your 15 projects' challenge. This is a promising year, with many beautiful and very different designs, I'm looking forward to it.
Love your pics with your cats introducing the challenges? :)))
Take care, Harmien.
